Michael Jackson's song Billie Jean has been voted the greatest dance record of all time by BBC Radio 2 listeners.

Written by Jackson, and co-produced by Quincy Jones, the track won two Grammy awards and went to the top of the UK charts in 1983.

Donna Summer's I Feel Love, which topped the UK charts in 1977, took second place in the music poll.

In third place was soul legend James Brown with Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine.

Australian singer Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue, the former soap actress who become one of the world's most famous female recording artists, was honored for her services to music on Thursday.
A beaming Minogue, who recently overcame breast cancer, received the Order of the British Empire (OBE) from Prince Charles, who was standing in for the Queen Elizabeth at the ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

"It is an incredible honor for me to receive this award. It makes me feel both humble and proud to be recognized for doing a job that I love so much," she said.

Alicia Keys & Kanye West

Rap star Kanye West picked up two prizes on Tuesday at the BET Awards in the Shrine Auditorium, an event honoring black recording artists, actors and athletes, while Alicia Keys was one of several stars who used the occasion to salute presidential contender Barack Obama.
West, whose third album, "Graduation," was one of 2007's top-selling releases and spawned three Grammys, was named best male hip-hop artist and shared a second BET prize with R&B singer T-Pain for their collaboration on the hit single "Good Life."

Will Smith and Charlize Theron at the opening ceremony

Hollywood stars Will Smith and Charlize Theron are among hundreds of A-list celebrities who appeared at the opening of Moscow’s 30th International Film Festival. The blockbuster 'Hancock' premiered on the opening night.

Thousands of movie industry professionals are expected to attend the event over the next ten days.

Distinguished Japanese filmmaker Takeshi Kitano has also arrived in Moscow.  He received an honourable award at the opening ceremony.

"In the Heights" musical poster, the best in 2007/2008

Broadway looked to the future — and to its past — at the 2008 Tony Awards with "In the Heights," the best musical winner, and "August: Osage County," the best play, sharing the spotlight with a nearly 60-year-old "South Pacific."
Both "Heights," a salsa and rap-flavored look at the Latino immigrant experience in Upper Manhattan, and "August," a brutal dissection of a backbiting Oklahoma family, were written by artists making their Broadway debuts.

The official Jury of this 61st Fesival de Cannes, présided over by Sean Penn, revealed this evening the Prize winners during the closing Ceremony.
Édouard Baer hosted Robert de Niro on the stage of the Grand Théâtre Lumière to award the Palme d’or to the best film among the 22 in Competition.

Barry Levinson’s closing film What Just Happened? starring Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Bruce Willis, was screened at the end of the ceremony.
