Nice MyCar

Set to make its public debut tomorrow at the British Motor Show in London, NICE's all-electric city car named, MyCar, will be on sale this Autumn in the UK. Starting from £8,995, MyCar is designed by Giugiaro of Italdesign, built in Hong Kong and comes with a two-year warranty.

With technical details to be released tomorrow with its official unveiling, NICE does state the running costs are very low, roughly one fifteenth compared to a conventional petrol or diesel model. Depending on electricity tariff used to charge the vehicle, owners will pay around 2p per mile.

The first official images of BMW’s 7-series have been leaked to a number of forums, and reveal full details of the new car’s exterior and interior styling. As expected, the car picks up several influences from the previous CS Concept including new LED elements on the headlights, an oversized grille and more fluid taillights.

Ferrari sees lighter cars as the best way to reach its goal of increasing fuel economy 40 percent and reducing emissions 25 percent without compromising its reputation for performance. Infiniti shares Nissan 370Z platform - but main focus will be comfort.
Auto Express drives the GT-R for the first time in the UK this week – but it isn’t the only high-performance car to come from Nissan. Luxury arm Infiniti has hinted at its own new coupé.

The firm leaked the news last month, when it revealed a plastic-moulded silhouette of what appeared to be a sleek two-door during the Nissan 360 drive event in Portugal. Bosses are keeping quiet about the forthcoming baby, but have said a concept will debut at a top motor show next year.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen AG, Europe's biggest carmaker, recalled 293,199 Brazilian-made Fox cars after a backseat mechanism injured at least eight people, some of whom lost the tip of their fingers.

The recall, ordered by the Brazilian Justice Ministry, includes the Fox, CrossFox and SpaceFox models, Volkswagen's Brazilian unit said.

The company will add parts and put stickers in the back seat with additional instructions explaining how to safely fold the seat the expand trunk space. The measures were approved by the ministry, Volkswagen said.

Honda Freed

Unveiled today in Tokyo, Japan, the Freed is Honda’s newest proposition in the compact minivan class. The Freed, whose name was coined from the word “freedom, is based on the new 2009 Jazz / Fit. While the Freed retains the same width as the Jazz / Fit at 1,695 mm, it’s longer (4,215 mm vs 3,900 mm), higher (1,715 mm vs 1,525 mm) and it also features an extended wheelbase measuring 2,740 mm in length (vs 2,500 mm).
